Punishment Fits the Crime

So, we as parents have implemented a 'no spanking' rule. We found that it really wasn't doing any good. Lately we have been taking tv privileges away and taking toys away. Now, when we take toys away we put them up high. Problem is, he's old enough to figure out how to get to them. Therefore, I put a big ass nail under this curtain and hung a bucket of his favorite toys way up high where he can't get to it. I wanted something safe- nothing below the bucket he would try to climb on. Worked perfectly! I'm pretty proud of myself! Routine goes as follows: he acts up, disobeys and we turn tv off. If he throws a temper tantrum because tv was taken then the toys get hung up. I'm hoping the punishing for temper tantrums puts them to an end. He starts prek in the fall. He has got to straighten up!
